The local area
A little slice of heaven
We’re a mere 20 minutes from the buzzing towns of Padstow and Newquay. Whether you’re here to soak up the sun on the beach or explore the rich history of our local towns and ports, we’re perfectly placed to offer you the best of both worlds. And if you’re not up for driving or walking, don’t worry—there’s a bus service right outside our farm.
Hop on an open-top bus and let it whisk you away on a scenic adventure along our breathtaking coastline!
Porthcothan Bay
Just a hop, skip, and a jump away!
A 10-minute walk or a breezy 5-minute bus ride down the hill from our farm—you’ll find this absolutely stunning beach that’s a slice of North Cornwall heaven. The trek down is easy-peasy, but heading back up? It’s a bit steep, so for those with tiny tots or if you’re not up for the hike, catching the bus back up is a super-smart move. There’s also a handy car park right opposite the beach if you prefer to drive down and skip the leg workout.
This beach is a dream spot, nestled in a north-west-facing cove with grassy dunes perfect for laying out a towel and soaking up some sun. And when the tide pulls away? The beach grows, revealing hidden coves on either side that are just begging to be explored. At high tide, the cliffs snugly shelter the beach, making it an ideal haven for a swim or some paddleboarding.
And, yes, your furry friends are welcome too since there’s no seasonal dog ban here! After some fun in the sun, make sure to swing by Porthcothan Bay Stores. Barney and Emma are the hosts with the most, and they whip up some of the best coffee and lunch you can find by the sea.
This pristine beach is usually quiet, perfect for a peaceful day by the water.
The Seven Bays

The local saying, “7 bays for 7 days,” couldn’t be more apt, capturing the unique charm and diversity of these Cornish treasures. Spanning seven miles along the north coast from Porthcothan Bay to Trevone Bay, near Padstow, each bay offers its own slice of seaside bliss.
